New Delhi [India], August 24 (ANI): BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Monday held a meeting with the Japanese Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi, in the national capital, with the two sides discussing the strong and growing India-Japan partnership, shared cultural connections and opportunities to further deepen bilateral cooperation.
According to a release, Nabin said that the interaction with the Japanese envoy also provided an opportunity to discuss India's transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP's organisational journey.
He also shared an update of the meeting in a post on X, stating, "Had a warm and productive interaction with H.E. Mr. ONO Keiichi, Ambassador of Japan to India. We spoke about the strong India-Japan partnership and our shared cultural connections, alongside India's transformation under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji and the immense potential to further strengthen our cooperation."
He said the meeting also offered an opportunity to share the BJP's evolution as a cadre-driven organisation and its vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Ono shared insights into Japan's initiatives aimed at deepening bilateral ties across key sectors, including artificial intelligence, manufacturing, green energy and skill development.
"The conversation also offered an opportunity to share the BJP's journey as a Karyakarta-driven organisation and our vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Ambassador Ono shared valuable insights into Japan's initiatives to deepen bilateral ties across key sectors such as AI, manufacturing, green energy and skill development. It was encouraging to see how our two great democracies are working together towards a shared and prosperous future," the post added.
During the meeting, Nabin also recalled the close personal friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and their contribution to giving greater strategic depth and momentum to India-Japan relations.
Nabin also recalled his interaction with a delegation of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party led by Member of the House of Representatives of Japan Takayuki Kobayashi in May this year.
Highlighting Japan's role in India's development journey, Nabin referred to cooperation in major infrastructure projects, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project.
He also spoke about India's transformation in infrastructure, digitalisation, manufacturing, social development and internal security.
Ambassador Ono elaborated on various initiatives being undertaken by Japan to further strengthen bilateral relations across multiple sectors.
The two sides also discussed the significance of 75 years of India-Japan diplomatic relations in 2027 and the opportunities to further deepen cooperation between the two countries.
During the interaction, Nabin shared an overview of the BJP's organisational journey, its grassroots structure and functioning. He highlighted the party's extensive network of members and karyakartas, its Morchas and Departments, the recently constituted national team and the BJP's emphasis on continuous organisational engagement beyond elections.
Vijay Chauthaiwale, In-charge of the Foreign Affairs Department of the BJP, was also present during the meeting. (ANI)
