Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 22 (ANI): BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday held the Congress government responsible for the deaths of three infants in an electrical short-circuit accident at RIMS Hospital in Adilabad and demanded immediate medical care for the 23 other infants injured in the incident.
In a post on X, KTR said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy must bear responsibility for the incident, alleging that the public healthcare sector had been “completely devastated” under his government.
“Chief Minister Revanth Reddy must bear full responsibility for this incident, as he has completely devastated the public healthcare sector since assuming office,” he said.
అదిలాబాద్ జిల్లా రిమ్స్ ఆసుపత్రిలో కరెంట్ షార్ట్ సర్క్యూట్ ప్రమాదంలో ముగ్గురు చిన్నారులు మృతి చెందడం అత్యంత బాధాకరం. ఈ దుర్ఘటనలో ఇంకా 23 మంది పసిపిల్లలు గాయపడిన నేపథ్యంలో వెంటనే మెరుగైన చికిత్స అందించి వారి ప్రాణాలు కాపాడాలి. కాంగ్రెస్ సర్కారు ఘోర వైఫల్యం వల్లే ఇంత పెద్ద ప్రమాదం జరిగి, అభంశుభం తెలియని పిల్లలు అన్యాయంగా బలైపోయారు. ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టిన నాటినుంచి ప్రభుత్వ వైద్య రంగాన్ని పూర్తిగా విధ్వంసం చేసిన సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డే ఈ సంఘటనకు పూర్తి బాధ్యత వహించాలి. రిమ్స్ ఆసుపత్రిలో నెలకొన్న దుస్థితులపై అనేకసార్లు BRS జిల్లా నేతలు ప్రభుత్వాన్ని హెచ్చరించినా మొద్దునిద్ర పోయిన రేవంత్ సర్కారులో కనీస చలనం కనిపించలేదు. అత్యంత పకడ్బందీ చర్యలు తీసుకోవాల్సిన పిల్లల వార్డులో ప్రభుత్వ పర్యవేక్షణ పూర్తిగా లోపించడం, కనీస నిర్వహణ లేకపోవడం వల్లే ఈ దురదృష్టకర సంఘటన చోటుచేసుకుంది. ఆదిలాబాద్ రిమ్స్ తో పాటు రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్న అన్ని ప్రభుత్వ ఆసుపత్రుల్లోని పిల్లల వార్డులు, ఐసీయూలను నిపుణులతో తనిఖీ చేయించి ఇలాంటి సంఘటనలు జరగకుండా పటిష్టమైన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలి. రేవంత్ సర్కారు చేతకానితనం వల్ల తమ పసిపిల్లలను కోల్పోయి పుట్టెడు దుఃఖంలో ఉన్న బాధిత కుటుంబాలకు 25 లక్షల చొప్పున ఎక్స్ గ్రేషియా చెల్లించి ఆదుకోవాలని BRS పక్షాన డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నాం.

KTR claimed that BRS district leaders had repeatedly warned the government about the conditions at RIMS Hospital in Adilabad but alleged that no action was taken.
“Despite repeated warnings from BRS district leaders regarding the deplorable conditions at RIMS Hospital, the Revanth government remained in a deep slumber and showed no signs of action,” he added.
He said the incident occurred due to a lack of government oversight and basic maintenance in the children’s ward, and called for expert inspections of children’s wards and ICUs in all government hospitals across Telangana, including RIMS Adilabad.
“This unfortunate incident occurred due to a complete lack of government oversight and a failure to ensure even basic maintenance in the children's ward—an area that demands stringent safety measures,” he said.
“Expert inspections must be conducted in the children's wards and ICUs of all government hospitals across the state, including RIMS Adilabad, and robust measures must be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future,” KTR said.
KTR also demanded that the government take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future and provide an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh to each of the families who lost their infants.
He further urged the government to ensure immediate and superior medical care for the 23 injured infants.
Earlier, a fire broke out at RIMS Hospital in Adilabad late Monday night, while 28 children admitted to a ward were safely rescued and evacuated, fire officials said.
The incident occurred around 11:50 pm.
Upon receiving information, a fire tender was rushed to the spot, and the blaze was brought under control. (ANI)
