Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister JP Nadda discuss strengthening healthcare services in state

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], August 21 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda at his residence in New Delhi on Friday.
According to a statement, Chief Minister Sai enquired about Nadda's health and well-being and wished him good health. During the meeting, they discussed the expansion and strengthening of healthcare services in Chhattisgarh and reviewed the progress of health schemes being implemented with the support of the Central Government.
Chief Minister Sai apprised the Union Health Minister of the State Government's efforts to ensure access to quality and affordable healthcare close to home. He said the healthcare system is being continuously strengthened, from primary healthcare services to advanced medical facilities.
The Chief Minister laid special emphasis on improving healthcare access in remote, forested, and tribal regions, particularly Bastar and Surguja, where challenging terrain poses challenges to the delivery of medical services. He said the State Government is prioritising the expansion of health infrastructure, availability of medical services and access to modern treatment facilities in these areas.
Sai also briefed the Union Health Minister on various health schemes and programmes being implemented in Chhattisgarh with Central Government support. He said coordinated efforts between the Centre and the State have helped expand healthcare services, with particular focus on maternal and child healthcare, institutional deliveries, treatment of serious illnesses, health insurance and emergency medical services, the statement added.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, significant efforts have been made to make healthcare more accessible and people-centric across the country. Schemes such as Ayushman Bharat have enabled needy families to access quality medical treatment. He said the Chhattisgarh Government is committed to effectively implementing Central schemes and ensuring that their benefits reach the last person.
Further, as per the statement, Nadda took note of the initiatives being undertaken to strengthen healthcare services in Chhattisgarh and assured the necessary support from the Central Government for further improving health and medical facilities in the state.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Health Minister, Chief Minister Sai said that continued cooperation from the Central Government would further accelerate the expansion of healthcare services in Chhattisgarh, particularly in remote and tribal areas, and help provide citizens with better, modern medical facilities.
