CM Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurates Odisha stall at SEMICON India 2026 in presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

New Delhi [India], September 18 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the state's stall at SEMICON India 2026 in Delhi on Friday in the presence of Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Speaking to reporters, Vaishnaw said Odisha holds immense potential in the semiconductor sector and that the rapid pace at which the state has advanced its projects has significantly boosted confidence among stakeholders.
“Odisha holds immense potential in the semiconductor sector. The rapid pace at which Odisha has advanced its projects has significantly boosted confidence among many stakeholders,” Vaishnaw said.
He said Odisha possesses excellent talent, reliable power and water supplies, and a government that is working swiftly. He thanked Majhi for personally monitoring and accelerating the projects.
“The state possesses excellent talent, reliable power and water supplies, and a government that is working swiftly; I would like to thank the CM for personally monitoring and accelerating both these projects,” he said.
Vaishnaw said three additional projects were underway with the support of the Odisha government and that investors had expressed satisfaction with the progress.
“This progress will propel Odisha toward a new horizon, as the semiconductor sector is among the most complex industries. Successfully executing such a complex industry in Odisha demonstrates the state’s ability to move up the value chain and develop products and industries that represent the future,” he said.
The Union Minister said discussions had also been held with Majhi regarding an 871-acre manufacturing park dedicated to information technology, semiconductors and electronics.
“We just held discussions with the Chief Minister regarding a massive 871-acre manufacturing park dedicated to information technology, semiconductors, and electronics,” Vaishnaw said.
He said modern facilities, including robust connectivity, internet access and power infrastructure, were being established at the park to set a new benchmark and create an excellent model for the state.
Vaishnaw also highlighted the park’s proximity to Bhubaneswar, saying convenient airport access would be crucial for visiting investors.
“Modern facilities—including robust connectivity, internet access, and power infrastructure—are being established there to set a new benchmark, creating an excellent model for the state. Its proximity to Bhubaneswar ensures convenient airport access, which is crucial for visiting investors,” he said.
“It will generate excellent employment opportunities,” Vaishnaw added. (ANI)
