Delhi: Northern Range Traffic team creates successful green corridor, donor heart reaches Fortis Hospital in 63 minutes

New Delhi [India], September 18 (ANI): The Northern Range Traffic Team successfully facilitated a critical Green Corridor from PGI, Rohtak, to Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, enabling the timely transportation of a donor heart for a scheduled heart transplant.
Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, informed Delhi Traffic Police that Chanchal Yadav, aged 45 years, was scheduled to undergo a heart transplant and that the donor heart was to be transported from PGI, Rohtak.
Taking immediate action, a dedicated team was constituted under the supervision of Sachin Kumar Singhal, IPS, DCP Traffic, Northern Range, and with the guidance of ACP Rajesh Kumar, North-West District Traffic Unit.
The team comprised TI Nangloi, TI Aman Vihar, TI Rohini, TI Narela, TI Samaypur Badli, TI Model Town and TI Ashok Vihar, along with their respective teams.
The Green Corridor covered approximately 95 km, from PGI, Rohtak to Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, and was successfully completed in 63 minutes through coordinated traffic management, continuous piloting and real-time coordination among the Traffic Police teams.
According to the traffic police, at approximately 08:10 PM, the ambulance carrying the donor heart was received at the Delhi border by TI Nangloi. Thereafter, the ambulance was continuously piloted through different jurisdictions by the respective Traffic Inspectors and their teams, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted movement.
The ambulance reached Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh at approximately 08:35 PM, enabling the donor heart to reach the hospital within the required time.
The successful execution of this critical Green Corridor reflects the prompt response, seamless coordination, professional traffic management, teamwork and unwavering dedication of Delhi Traffic Police personnel.
Delhi Traffic Police remains committed to facilitating emergency medical movements and extending every possible assistance to save precious lives.
Speaking about the assistance, the patient’s son said, “ I’m very thankful to the government and staff and all of them and everyone who helped us. Thank you.”
Another family member said, “I was standing outside the gate, and I saw that you were coordinating everything, you and the police officers and traffic police, so thank you for everything. We are very thankful; thank you to everyone.” 
“Very good management. At first, we were scared, but now we are very satisfied. Thank you,” another one added. (ANI)
