Delhi Police bust fake airline job racket, six held including website developer, tele-callers

New Delhi [India], August 24 (ANI): The Cyber Police Station of Delhi Police's Central District has busted a fake airline job racket allegedly operating in the name of 'Bretish Airways' and Future Wings Learning Institute, apprehending six persons, including the alleged mastermind, his associate, a website developer and three tele-callers, police said on Monday.
According to police, the accused allegedly targeted job aspirants through fake websites and social media advertisements, offering jobs at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and demanding Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 as fake admission or registration fees for aviation-related courses.
The case came to light after a complainant reported that on June 10, 2026, he came across an Instagram advertisement for a job with Bretish Airways. After filling in his details, he received a call from a woman identifying herself as Karishma, HR of "Bretish Airways."
The woman allegedly obtained his PAN card, Aadhaar card, marksheets and CV through WhatsApp and told him that a diploma in Airport/Aviation Management from "Future Wings Learning Institute" was mandatory for the job.
The complainant subsequently transferred Rs 7,000 through UPI, following which he was allegedly provided a fake admission slip, NOC slip and job offer letter.
When he found that no airline by the name Bretish Airways existed and the accused stopped responding to his calls, he lodged a complaint through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) helpline 1930.
Following the complaint, FIR No. 34/2026 under Sections 318(4), 319(2) and 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Cyber Police Station, Central District, on July 14, 2026.
During the investigation, police conducted technical analysis of mobile numbers, IPDR and broadband details, payment trails, UPI transactions, bank accounts and website registration details. The accused were traced to Noida, Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Sandeep Kumar and his associate Akhil Kumar were arrested on August 18. During interrogation and further technical investigation, the police identified the alleged website developer and three tele-callers involved in the racket.
The accused have been identified as Sandeep Kumar, 23, of Greater Noida, alleged operator and mastermind; Akhil Kumar, 27, of Moradabad, his alleged 50-50 partner; Rakesh Kumar, 47, of Greater Noida West, an alleged website developer; and three women identified as Shweta, Sapna and Sakshi, who allegedly worked as tele-callers.
Police said Sandeep had previously worked as a tele-caller for fake aviation-job companies and allegedly learnt the modus operandi of such frauds. He later operated a fraudulent venture named "Pragati Airways" before entering into a partnership with Akhil Kumar to establish the fake entities Bretish Airways and "Future Wings Learning Institute.
According to police, the accused operated from a rented office at Gaur City Centre Mall in Noida. Fake websites were designed and hosted through a website developer, while data of job seekers was allegedly purchased from online job portals.
The tele-callers allegedly posed as HR executives of aviation companies, contacted job aspirants and induced them to pay Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 on the pretext of admission or registration fees for online aviation diplomas and courses.
After receiving the money, the accused allegedly sent fake admission slips, certificates and job offer letters to maintain the confidence of the victims.
Police further said the accused frequently changed their offices and websites and discarded SIM cards and mobile phones to evade detection. After complaints surfaced against Bretish Airways, they allegedly floated new fake websites under the names Shankh Airways and Excellence Learning Institute.
During the investigation, police seized two laptops, eight mobile phones, eight SIM cards and two registers containing job-seeker data and other details.
Scrutiny of the NCRP also revealed 10 complaints allegedly linked to "Bretish Airways" and the mobile numbers or bank accounts used by the accused, police said.
Further investigation is underway to establish additional linkages and identify other persons allegedly involved in the wider fake airline and aviation-job network.
Delhi Police has advised citizens to verify job offers received through social media only through official and verified sources and to avoid making payments for online courses, diplomas or admissions claimed to be mandatory for employment. (ANI)
