"Dialogue replacing disputes, trust strengthening Centre-state relations": PM Modi highlights Assam CM's article on cooperative federalism

New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday highlighted Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s opinion piece in an English daily, underscoring the shift towards cooperative federalism in the country.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) emphasised that new pathways for progress have opened in the country amid strong Centre-state relations.
“Dialogue is replacing disputes, trust is strengthening Centre-state relations, and development is opening new pathways for progress. In his latest piece, Assam CM Shri @himantabiswa explores the shift in cooperative federalism realised in the last decade. An introspective read as to how far we have come and what we have achieved with belief!” the PMO posted.
Sarma’s article notes that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, long-pending inter-state disputes are being resolved through dialogue.
It cited recent agreements, including those between Bihar and Jharkhand on the Sone River and between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on division of assets and liabilities, as examples of this approach.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organising the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' across the country from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Modi's birthday, with a series of service-oriented programmes and public outreach initiatives.
The 25-year public-service milestone refers to PM Modi's political career from his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat to his subsequent tenure as Prime Minister.
The BJP has announced that lamps will be lit at homes as part of the programme, with the initiative intended to mark PM Modi's years in public service.
The BJP's campaign is scheduled to continue for a month and includes service-oriented activities and public outreach. The campaign includes blood donation camps, exhibitions, seminars, cleanliness drives, youth programmes and other initiatives among the planned activities.
PM Modi first became Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and later became Prime Minister in 2014.
Political leaders, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and other dignitaries extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Modi on his 76th birthday, highlighting his leadership and the government's development and public welfare agenda. (ANI)
