Guwahati (Assam) [India], September 17(ANI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said prayers were offered for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's well-being on his birthday and announced a month-long program to mark his 25 years of public service.
Speaking to reporters, CM Sarma said, "Today, accompanied by our state president and MLA, we prayed for the well-being of the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was born in 1950 to Hiraba and Damodardas Modi in Vadnagar in Gujarat's Mehsana district. On May 26, 2014, he took the oath as the Prime Minister of India, becoming the first Prime Minister to be born after India attained Independence.
Earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu also extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Modi, referring to his 25 years of public service and his contribution to good governance and inclusive development.

“The rituals were duly performed, and we prayed to the god to grant Prime Minister Modi a long and healthy life and to enable the realisation of the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat.’ It was with this very purpose that we came here," he added.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the occasion was a matter of pride and good fortune and that prayers were offered for Modi's good health and longevity.
