FIR would not have been registered if Rahul Gandhi had not supported me: Pellet gun shelling victim

FIR would not have been registered if Rahul Gandhi had not supported me: Pellet gun shelling victim

New Delhi [India], August 22 (ANI): Pellet gun shelling victim Sahil Lochav said on Friday that FIR on his complaint perhaps wouldn't have been registered if Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had not supported him.
"When I spoke to him recently, he (Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi) called to ask about my health, I mentioned that my FIR wasn't being registered. He immediately said, "Let's meet tomorrow; I will go and get your FIR filed." I want to thank him for helping me so much. This FIR is a first step towards justice. It took eight hours to register the FIR, and perhaps it wouldn't have been registered at all if the LOP hadn't supported me. I had been running around trying to get an FIR filed since August 14th," he told reporters.
Lochav earlier said he underwent surgery at AIIMS but vision in his eyes is not clear.
"On 20th July, pellet guns were fired at me. I was admitted to Lady Hardinge, from there, I was referred to AIIMS. I underwent surgery at AIIMS. But the vision in my eye is still not clear. On 14th August, I wrote a 7-page complaint and gave to my lawyer...But the FIR has not been registered," Lochav told reporters.
Lochav's lawyer earlier alleged that they initially approached the Connaught Place police station on August 14, where they were told that cases related to Jantar Mantar had been transferred to the Parliament Street police station.
"On 14th August we went to the Police Station in Connaught Place. They said that all Jantar Mantar cases have come to Parliament Street Police Station. We came here. They told us that the place of incident is Connaught Place area, so we should go there," the lawyer said.
He alleged that after they returned to the Connaught Place police station, the complaint was not accepted and they were made to wait for a long period.
He said they subsequently approached the DCP Crime Branch but were informed that complaints could not be directly submitted there.
The lawyer also cited Lochav's medico-legal case (MLC) report from Lady Hardinge Hospital, claiming that it recorded punctured wounds and bleeding.
"This is a clear offence that has happened. We have an MLC copy of Lady Hardinge which says punctured wounds and blood oozing out," he said. (ANI)
