Five arrested for abducting 18-year-old in Delhi's Kamla Nagar

New Delhi [India], August 24 (ANI): Five persons were arrested in connection with the alleged abduction and physical assault of an 18-year-old man, police said.
The police informed that the arrest happened within two hours of the alleged abduction of a young man in a grey car near Kamla Nagar on Sunday. The police traced the victim, identified as Vishesh, to a park in the Gulabi Bagh area.
On Sunday, a PCR call was received at Police Station Roop Nagar regarding kidnapping/abduction from near Kaventre Shop, Kamla Nagar. It was found that the victim had been forcibly taken away by five persons in a grey-coloured car after assaulting him, DCP North Delhi Niharika Bhatt said.
As this happened, the police team alerted other staff on patrol and picket duty. The location of the victim was traced to the Gulabi Bagh area. The team rushed to the location of the victim, and after reaching the spot, they heard the sound of cries and shouting from a park. They found the victim, Vishesh, along with five other persons, namely Shubham, Swayam, Dhruv, Tanmay and Rishi.
All five persons were apprehended within two hours, and the vehicle was taken into police possession, the DCP added.
According to the police, during the inquiry, the victim stated that at about 11:00 PM he was sitting with his childhood friend Deepak near the shop. In the meantime, the accused persons arrived and assaulted him, and he was forcibly dragged into the car, where he was again assaulted, resulting in injury. He was thereafter taken to a park in Gulabi Bagh area, where the accused continued to assault and abuse him.
Subsequently, an FIR under sections 140(3), 110, 126(2), 3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Roop Nagar police station, and the further investigation was taken up, the police said.
During interrogation, accused Shubham and Swayam Shah disclosed that the incident was committed over an issue involving a girl. The girl had told Shubham that Vishesh, who had earlier worked with her at Moti Bagh, was speaking wrongly about her. On this, Shubham and Swayam decided to confront Vishesh, and they were looking for him to teach a lesson, according to the police.
Shubham initially went to Vishesh's office, but he was not present. Later, Shubham amd Swayam Shah, along with their friends Dhruv, Tanmay and Rishi, came in a car. At midnight, they reached Kamla Nagar, where Deepak, a friend of Vishesh, was standing and talking with him, the police said.
Deepak told them that Vishesh was the person who had earlier worked with the girl at Moti Bagh. Thereafter, Shubham started assaulting Vishesh, and further, Swayam Shah, Dhruv, Tanmay and Rishi also joined in the assault. They forcibly took Vishesh in their car and continued beating him with sticks, causing him serious injuries, including a head injury, the police added. (ANI)
