Gabriel Jesus joins Barcelona from Arsenal on three-year deal

Barcelona [Spain], September 1 (ANI): Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus has completed his move from Arsenal to Barcelona, with the Spanish giants announcing an agreement that will see the striker wear the Blaugrana colours until June 30, 2029.
According to a media release from Barcelona FC, Jesus arrives at Barcelona after four seasons with Arsenal, where he made 123 appearances across competitions, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists. He joined the Gunners from Manchester City in July 2022.
The 29-year-old forward's time at Arsenal was interrupted by an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury suffered in January 2025, which kept him out of action until December. He returned to help Arsenal secure the 2025/26 Premier League title, scoring three goals in 14 appearances during the campaign.
Jesus began his senior career with Palmeiras in Brazil, making his first-team debut in March 2015. He helped the club win the Brazilian Cup in 2015 and the Brazilian league title in 2016, while also being named the best player in the Brazilian top flight that year.
His performances earned him a move to Manchester City in 2016, where he spent six seasons under Pep Guardiola. Jesus made 236 appearances for the English club, scoring 95 goals and registering 45 assists.
During his time at City, he won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, four League Cups and two Community Shields.
At international level, Jesus represented Brazil at youth level before making his senior debut in September 2016. He was part of Brazil's gold-medal-winning squad at the 2016 Rio Olympics, scoring three goals in the tournament.
He subsequently featured in Brazil's squads for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups and was part of the team that won the 2019 Copa America. He also featured in Brazil's squad for the 2021 Copa America.
Jesus now begins the next chapter of his career in Spain, joining Barcelona on a contract running through the end of June 2029. (ANI)
