Himachal CM Sukhvinder Sukhu invites investors to explore state's hospitality sector

New Delhi [India], August 23 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday invited investors to invest in the state's hotel and hospitality sector, saying tourism remained a priority for the state government.
Speaking to ANI on the sidelines of the 56th FHRAI Annual Convention 2026, the Chief Minister stated that the state administration placed no restrictions on hospitality investments and actively encouraged broader participation from industry leaders.
"See, we participated in this meeting to promote tourism in Himachal Pradesh and to promote tourism industries and restaurants. We want investors to come to Himachal and invest in hotel industries. There is no restriction. Tourism is our priority in Himachal," Sukhu said.
The Chief Minister noted that the state government worked rapidly on expanding regional air and heliport connectivity to facilitate seamless travel for incoming visitors.
"We are moving fast in airport connectivity and heliport connectivity. And in the coming time, tourists who come to Himachal, will take advantage of clean air in quiet valleys and will go back taking care of their health," Sukhu said.
Highlighting the state's tourism potential, Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh offered opportunities across a range of segments, including adventure, wildlife, religious and nature tourism.
"By taking part in this [convention], listening to people's thoughts, I have given information about the possibilities in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal is such a state where you will get adventure tourism, wildlife tourism, religion tourism, natural tourism. What kind of tourism do you want? You will get all kinds of tourism," he said.
Sukhu also highlighted the state's natural resources and geographical features as key advantages for tourism.
"We are the lungs of Northern India. We are the water wall of Northern India. There are dense forests. There are moderate forests. There are 40-40 km of water bodies. Every aspect from a tourism point of view, you will find in Himachal. Snow-bound area is more than Switzerland in Himachal. You will get 24x7 snow," the Chief Minister added.
Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also addressed the gathering, stating that the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India worked for the development of the hotel industry, tourism growth, and related challenges over the past six years.
Shekhawat noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the progress of the Indian economy altered global perceptions of India, unlocking significant potential for the hospitality sector.
He added that the hospitality sector stood positioned to make a substantial contribution to the national economy, with industry conventions in Kashi providing critical platforms to evaluate sector challenges, operational conditions, and technological shifts across the country. (ANI)
