Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 14: Jindal Panther opened their journey in the Sunjay Kapur Memorial Cup on a winning note with a 10–7 ½ victory over Team X at Jindal Polo Estate on Wednesday.
Jindal Panther held a narrow 5–4 lead at the end of the second chukker before extending their advantage to 8–6½ in the third.
The team maintained its momentum in the final chukker to finish the match at 10–7½ and secure a winning start to the tournament.
Jindal Panther fielded Naveen Jindal, Mahakrit Singh, Siddhant Sharma and Simran S. Shergill, while Team X comprised Gajraj Singh, Pranav Kapur, Salim Azmi and Mahesh Sharma.
The Sunjay Kapur Memorial Cup features four teams—Jindal Panther, Team X, 1729 Team and Achievers—competing for the title. The tournament continues on Thursday, October 15, with Achievers taking on 1729 Team, followed by the semi-finals on Friday, and final on Sunday.
The tournament promises another week of competitive polo at Jindal Polo Estate, bringing together accomplished players and teams in the contest for the coveted cup.
