Tadepalli (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 18 (ANI): YSRCP SC Cell State President TJR Sudhakar Babu on Friday alleged serious irregularities in appointments made under the sports quota of the Mega DSC and challenged Education Minister Nara Lokesh to an open debate on the issue at the SAAP office on September 21 to prove that only eligible candidates were appointed.
Sudhakar questioned how Kuna Ravi Kumar signed attestations as Softball Association president on May 16 when he was reportedly elected only on June 22.
He also asked how certificates were attested before the DSC merit list was released on August 22. He demanded an inquiry into whether associations received the selection list in advance and issued certificates accordingly.
Sudhakar Babu alleged that relatives of softball association office-bearers secured teacher posts using participation certificates. He cited the appointments of G Ruchitha, Lakshmi Devi and Kolapalli Nagamalakshmi and demanded verification. He also questioned how district-level players obtained Form-2 certificates meant for national-level achievements and how certificates were created without regard to candidates’ ages.
He said YSRCP did not want any genuinely qualified candidate to suffer. Party leaders would reach the SAAP office with affected aspirants and documentary evidence on September 21. The government must disclose district-wise details of all sports quota appointments. If Lokesh cannot disprove the evidence and establish that every appointee was eligible, he must resign as Education Minister, Sudhakar Babu demanded.
Earlier, Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also alleged massive irregularities in the DSC 2025 recruitment process and demanded a CBI probe into the matter, while also seeking the resignation of state Education Minister Nara Lokesh.
Addressing the media in Tadepalli, Jagan alleged that several candidates were given government jobs despite not appearing for the examination and claimed that the recruitment process was marred by "unprecedented irregularities."
Jagan cited several cases to support his allegations, including appointments made under the sports quota on the basis of participation certificates for tournaments which, he claimed, were never conducted.
"Many skeletons are tumbling out of the DSC 2025 cupboard with every passing day," Jagan said, alleging that the recruitment process had violated established norms.
He alleged that 39 appointments were made under the sports quota and claimed that some candidates submitted certificates showing participation in tournaments in Khammam that, according to the Telangana Judo Association, were never held.
Jagan further alleged irregularities in the softball and Kho-Kho categories. Citing one case, he claimed that a candidate and his sister were appointed under the sports quota on the basis of medals allegedly won at a Kho-Kho championship in Nalgonda, despite the Telangana Kho-Kho Association stating that no such competition had taken place.
