Philips Onboards Yash as its New Brand Ambassador Ahead of Toxic Release

Philips Onboards Yash as its New Brand Ambassador Ahead of Toxic Release

VMPL
New Delhi [India], August 17: Philips has teamed up with Rocking Star Yash for a new brand film, Trimmers Ka Baap, released on August 15, ahead of his upcoming film Toxic, which is set to release on August 26. The campaign brings together Philips' grooming category and Yash's strong association with his signature beard look.
Interestingly, the collaboration began with a moment that fans noticed themselves. Earlier this year, eagle-eyed fans spotted Yash using a Philips trimmer in a behind-the-scenes glimpse, which sparked conversations across social media. That fan-discovered moment has now turned into an official partnership, with Philips announcing Yash as the brand ambassador for its men's grooming portfolio.
What makes the collaboration stand out is the timing. Brands often work with actors around or after the release of their films. Philips has taken a different approach by launching its brand film before Toxic hits theatres. This allows the campaign to become part of the conversation around Yash in the lead-up to the film.
The brand has also partnered with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups as its Official Grooming Partner ahead of the film's worldwide release. With Yash already at the centre of entertainment conversations, the association gives Philips a chance to connect its campaign with a much larger cultural moment.
Yash is also a natural fit for a trimmer brand. His beard has become an important part of his on-screen image, making the actor a relevant choice for Philips' grooming category. The brand uses this connection through the campaign line "Trimmers Ka Baap", positioning Philips as the leader in the category.
Speaking about the association, Yash said that he had trusted Philips for his grooming for years, even before the partnership was discussed. He also highlighted consistency and performance as important factors in the products he uses.
The brand film takes a larger approach to advertising. Instead of looking like a regular grooming commercial, the DVC uses a cinematic style and presents Yash in a larger-than-life setting. The treatment gives the film the scale and feel of an entertainment property, while still keeping the product at the centre of the story.
The campaign also uses the Independence Day occasion through the idea of "freedom from ordinary trimmers". With the film releasing on August 15, the line connects the product message with the occasion in a simple way.
There is also a clear product focus behind the campaign. The Philips All-in-One Trimmer comes with BeardSense Technology, which scans beard density 125 times every second and adjusts its power across different areas of the beard. The idea is to deliver a consistent trim and sharp finish.
The collaboration shows how brands can approach celebrity partnerships differently by looking at the larger entertainment moment around an actor rather than simply using their popularity for an endorsement. Philips has brought together a fan-discovered moment, Yash's beard-led image, the upcoming Toxic release and a cinematic brand film to create a campaign that sits between advertising and entertainment.
For Philips, the Yash collaboration also takes the brand beyond a regular grooming communication. What started with fans noticing Yash using the product has now become a larger partnership, giving the brand an opportunity to be part of the conversation before Toxic reaches audiences across the country.
