"Please save Telangana": BRS leader Dasoju Shravan Kumar seeks Rahul Gandhi's intervention over CM Revanth Reddy's remarks against KCR

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 17 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Dasoju Shravan Kumar on Monday made a direct appeal to the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan to intervene and "save Telangana" from a Chief Minister who relies on an "abusive political discourse."
Speaking to ANI, Kumar expressed deep disappointment over the political climate in the state, alleging that the electorate's trust has been betrayed by the current leadership. He recalled that the public voted Congress into power based on Rahul Gandhi's appeals and election declarations.
"On behalf of the people of Telangana, I make an honest appeal to the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and AICC Telangana in-charge, Meenakshi Natarajan: please save Telangana. The people of Telangana trusted Rahul Gandhi, the several declarations, and the promises made by the Congress Party, voting them into power. In return, what kind of Chief Minister have you given us? A man who relies on aggressive language, brazen loot, and abusive political discourse; just a day after Independence Day, he had the audacity to utter ugly abuses against the Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, K Chandrashekar Rao," he said.
The statement came after Reddy on Monday accused former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of remaining at his farmhouse like Dhritarashtra, turning a blind eye to his son's conduct.
He further alleged that BRS leaders, who enjoyed power while in government, were now exploiting party workers in the opposition.
"During the BRS rule, the KCR family benefited, while common people were given importance in the Praja Palana (People's governance)," he alleged.
The Chief Minister announced that the Telangana Assembly session would be held in September. He called upon party workers and MLAs to work towards securing a doubled majority in the 2029 elections.
Revanth Reddy said he would continue to work tirelessly for the people and resolve their problems. He asserted that even "1,000 KCRs" could not harm him as long as he had the blessings of the people. (ANI)
