Rahul Gandhi begins his two-day Rae Bareli visit, to interact with Sarafa traders

New Delhi [India], September 8 (ANI): Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday left from Lucknow aiport, from where he will head to Rae Bareli, his parliamentary constituency, for a two-day visit.
During his visit, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to meet Congress party workers and interact with various delegations and people from different sections of society.
The Congress leader is also scheduled to interact with Sarafa (gold and silver) traders during his visit.
Gandhi is expected to chair a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), review ongoing development works in the constituency and take stock of the situation in flood-affected areas.
The visit comes amid Rahul Gandhi's continued political engagement on issues concerning students, governance and public accountability.
A day before his Rae Bareli visit, Gandhi also criticised the government over the recent Satya Niketan building collapse in Delhi, calling for accountability and questioning the failure to ensure safety and regulatory compliance in buildings being used as paying guest accommodation.
His Rae Bareli visit comes against the backdrop of his recent political campaign on issues including electoral accountability and the functioning of institutions. Gandhi has been repeatedly targeting the BJP-led government and the Election Commission over what he has termed "vote chori", alleging irregularities in the electoral process.
In Rae Bareli, the Congress leader is expected to focus on constituency-level issues and interact with local stakeholders as part of his outreach among residents and party workers. (ANI)
