Students demand cancellation of Mains exam for 1,799 posts: Roshan Anand backs BPSC aspirants

Students demand cancellation of Mains exam for 1,799 posts: Roshan Anand backs BPSC aspirants

Patna (Bihar) [India], August 23 (ANI): Gyan Bindu Director Roshan Anand on Saturday extended support to students protesting at Gardanibagh in Patna over recruitment demands and examination transparency, urging student leaders and aspirants to unite and collectively raise their concerns before the government and concerned examination commissions.
Interacting with the protesting students, Anand said the student leaders involved in the ongoing agitation were initially divided and that efforts were being made to bring them together on a common platform. He said a united movement would help the students convey their demands more effectively to the government and the system.
"Regarding the ongoing agitation, the student leaders were initially divided; our primary goal was to unite them, and we made efforts to do so. They have agreed to deliberate on the matter. Once they unite and raise their voices collectively, a powerful message will reach the government and the system, prompting the government to consider the issues and potentially bring about positive change," Anand told ANI.
He highlighted concerns over alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by various recruitment bodies in Bihar, including the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC) and Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC).
"Whether it is the BPSC, Bihar SSC, CSBC, or BPSSC--these boards conduct examinations, yet irregularities are observed in every single one... Malpractice is malpractice, regardless of scale; therefore, the students are demanding the cancellation of the Mains exam for these 1,799 posts...," he said.
Anand said the alleged irregularities had also affected the confidence of young aspirants in the recruitment system and government machinery, stressing that the concerned commissions must take steps to restore that trust through transparency.
"The main objective was to unite the student leaders, and efforts were made in that direction. They have agreed to discuss the matter. Once they unite and raise their voice together, the government and the system will be compelled to take note of their issues," he said.
Highlighting concerns over recruitment examinations in Bihar, Anand alleged that irregularities were being reported across various examination boards, including the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC), and Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC).
"Whether the malpractice is small or big, malpractice remains malpractice. The students are demanding the cancellation of the Mains examination for 1,799 posts," he said.
Anand further said that alleged irregularities had affected the confidence of young aspirants in the recruitment system and stressed the need for greater transparency in examinations.
"Today, the youth's faith in the system and the government machinery has been shaken; it is time for these commissions to restore that trust by ensuring transparency," he added.
He further urged the government to examine the alleged irregularities associated with the 70th BPSC examination and called on the recruitment commissions to convey the demands raised by the protesting students to the government.
The government needs to look into the irregularities that occurred during the 70th BPSC examination... It is the duty of these commissions to convey the students' demands to the government. If these commissions fail to do so, we will take action to confront and pressure them," Anand said.
The students have been staging protests at Gardanibagh in Patna, raising concerns over the recruitment process and alleged irregularities in examinations. The protesters have been demanding greater transparency and action on the issues raised by them. (ANI)
