The world celebrates many days throughout the year, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and others. Among these, there is also a day dedicated to mental health—World Health Day. It is observed annually to raise awareness about health issues. According to the World Health Organization, the 2025 theme will be “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,” focusing on improving maternal and newborn health.
During the Biden-Harris administration, former President Joe Biden shared in a proclamation in 2022, “For too many families, in too many places, worrying about health problems and access to health care is a daily reality. So today, on World Health Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to building a future that is safer, more equitable, and healthier, for families here and abroad.”
He continued, “This pandemic has spotlighted the critical role and bravery of health and care workers. That’s why I’ve asked my Administration to develop a global health workforce plan, to accelerate our contributions to the Sustainable Development Agenda and investments in health and care workers.”
