"Love Jihad a stain on our country": Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai at book launch in Raipur

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], August 24 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday expressed concern over what he described as "Love Jihad" and said that women and girls must be made aware of the risks associated with such cases.
Speaking at a book release ceremony at Guru Ghasidas Museum in Raipur, CM Sai said, "Especially given that Love Jihad is a stain on our country...it is truly unfortunate that our sisters and daughters are falling victim to it."
"Perpetrators conceal their identities and even change their names to lure our sisters and daughters into a web of love; by the time the situation escalates, it is often too late to turn back, and their lives are ruined," Sai said.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the release of the book Kohra, which he said could help create awareness among women and girls.
Expressing confidence in the book, Sai said that Kohra would act as a guiding light for women and girls and help them remain alert to situations that could put their lives at risk.
"I am fully confident that this book, 'Kohra', will serve as a guiding light for our sisters and daughters," he said.
Sai also said that he would make efforts to ensure that the book reaches a wide audience.
"I will strive to ensure that the book reaches as many people as possible, thereby protecting our sisters and daughters from falling prey," he said.
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of awareness and vigilance while speaking about cases in which individuals allegedly conceal their identities to establish relationships with women.
He said that the message contained in Kohra should reach a larger section of society, particularly women and girls, so that they can remain informed and cautious.
The book release ceremony was held at Guru Ghasidas Museum in Raipur, where the Chief Minister highlighted the need to spread awareness about the issue and expressed his support for taking the book's message to as many people as possible. (ANI)
